I see so many people at church who are obsessed with their image. They want everyone to know how much they volunteer, how much they give, and how "holy" their marriage is. It’s all a performance. Read Acts 5. Ananias and Sapphira sold some land and brought a donation to the apostles. They gave a portion of it, but publicly lied and claimed they were sacrificing 100% of the profits, just so the church would think they were super spiritual. The Holy Spirit didn't just expose their lie. God literally struck Ananias dead on the spot. Three hours later, his wife came in, repeated the exact same lie to keep up their image, and she dropped dead too. God has zero tolerance for religious PR stunts.
